What good could possibly come from having that convo in public? And again, the more important question is what could she say that would change anything? Best case scenario ends with him saying exactly what he did, worst case ends with the entire party knowing what's going on.

Pretty sure the guy wasn't bragging. I thought it was just his cover up for how he knew about the visit by seeing the car.

Agreed. I was ashamed of myself but in hindsight it could have saved me a couple of months more of being an option. Never checked up on someone like that. Never snooped through an ex's phone, facebook, or AOL IM either. I usually take the trust completely route.
For those interested: She hasn't texted or called back after my plagiarized response. I'm sure she's getting finger blasted in old boy's C-Class as they go to her favorite yogurt spot and won't think of me for a bit.
I will miss her dog though.
On a positive note, my fragile ego just got a dead cat bounce of sorts from a few Tinder matches. Pretty sure one's a bot though.

And to answer your question, I understand you think it could be done discreetly but I think that's being optimistic. Seems like that kinda shite is always being talked about in the next room by two or three girls if there's drama in my friend group. Sorry OP, but at least one of her friends knew they were bangin, and y'all having a private convo would be enough to put two and two together. I think you made the right call just making a clean break.
