The difference was there wasn’t cell phones with cameras on them and most places wouldn’t develop the film we would drop off.
Also judging people on the Internet wasn’t a thing back then, so the media wasn’t at spring break writing articles about college kids being college kids. It just wasn’t a news worthy story. Times have changed.
