So I recently applied for the aforementioned position. Still going through the process but I'm hoping to be contacted for an interview shortly (application, testing, etc. has already been done online).

The internship entails a 6 week educational portion followed by a 6 week mentorship with an operator.

I've got an A.S. in Occupational Safety and I'll complete a B.S. in Business Administration in fall 2017. No P-TECH background.

Has anyone here completed this internship and be willing to offer their experiences? I'm sure I'll learn more as I go through the interview process, but I'm just curious if it was a positive experience or if there was anything I should know going into it.

Username at gmail.

Thanks in advance.

That's just because you passed the first assessment. There's more to the application then that. Most people make it past the 1st round, and that's it

You're probably right. I'm not arguing that. I would just assume if it was closed it'd be closed - as in no further contact. But I suppose with all that automation it doesn't always work like that.

They know you're smart from your degrees but try to talk up your mechanical ability in the interview and emphasize safety. Operations wants to know you can use tools and troubleshoot. If you get the internship work hard, listen to instructions and be humble. You can probably climb the ladder in the company quick. Good luck.
