I think almost all of the posters prior to you are doing a poor job of articulating their positions or they truly believe that once a man is married his wife is obligated to have sex with him whether she wants to or not.

This post right here is perfect, if lack of intimacy is not grounds for a divorce, extramarital affairs (by both parties) can’t be grounds either.

This ruling is bad all around.

Maybe some day men will learn to stop getting married.

Being married first and having a kid second is still far and away the best indicator that a child will be successful later in life.

Tell me again, what is the point of getting married?

To find someone that makes you a better person, allows you to have kids, divide parental duties, and continue your family lineage

I feel sorry for all the baws in dead bedrooms. Mrs. STLDawg and I are hitting off better than when we were 25.

All this can be done without signing any binding contacts to give the other party cash and prizes if she decides to leave you

Studies have shown cohabitation without marriage does not provide the same successful outcomes as children born to married parents.

Fair enough but its still not a strong argument for most young men. "Sure marriage sucks, you lose your freedom, your wife doesnt have marital duty to have sex with you and is incentivized to leave you...but your kids have a better chance at success"

A better argument would be to say being married gives you more social status/respect etc but id say even that is fading in todays times

"either find a wife by 25 or gfy"

This isn't true 100% of the time but it is true 95% of the time.

You’re going into marriage thinking it’s all about you. It’s not. It’s also not all about her. It’s about the two of you coming together to support each other, grow with each other, and to create a future with each other. Marriage is about being selfless and doing things that are for the betterment of those around you, not just yourself.

I’m certainly not perfect in this, far from it, but if if both parties try to do this, marriage can be the single best thing to happen to a man or a woman.

I understand this, but lets not act like marriage is some kind of moral or Biblical necessity. Paul encouraged men not to get married(to be more committed to Christ and Church) but getting married was never a commandment of God.

Lets also not pretend that the women youd be marrying today are the same as your grandmother. Young men have no obligation to commit to women who have slept around even a little bit, cant cook, are lazy etc.

I’m not referencing anything biblical or religious. I’m talking practically, marrying the right woman makes your life and her life better.

Agreed 100%. I married a college educated small town girl that believe in traditional values (although I do all the cooking but that’s by my choice)

Sure and if I choose the right lottery tickets, ill win millions.

If I pet the wrong dog, ill get bit

Im not anti marriage. If a guy finds some great girl, by all means go for it. Marriage made more sense years ago when most girls out there could be the right girl. Women in general just dont possess the logic and forethought to make good decisions in the day of social media and unlimited options. The girls that are fit for marriage in 2025 are a rarity and Joe Blow off the street just wont have many...if any chances with a girl like this
