Real talk. Can I leave uptown nola and head to Br now or should I wait a couple hours?

Leave now or in 2 hours, you still be in the shite. You'll need to wait like 4 hours for a decent trip.

North of I12 generally, be ready. Getting a good wind signature coming out of Ascension heading NE. There's an open slot in convection heading toward 55 up that way. Lower levels flowing in from the SE, meeting the W moving energy.

That intersection could easily fire severe storms on the lead edge of the line.

Just had a funnel cloud spin up near my house in SE Lincoln County in MS. Only lasted about 15 seconds til it dissipated. Two other areas of rotation seen as well but no funnel. I was a weather guy in the navy back in the day so I have the training and have logged several. Wind was crazy but no train noise. Obviously never reached the ground thankfully.

I'm trying to learn radar readin'. Is that line from about Montpelier through Kentwood? I'm looking at the velocity and on one side of that line, it's moving away from the radar and toward the radar on the other side.

Every time they cut to the storm chaser driving through Mississippi in the heavy rain, I chuckle when he passes cars traveling the highway with hazard lights flashing... I know that's a huge pet peeve of the O-T

That's the interaction.

What I'm noting is the bright returns out in Ascension/EBR. It's all in one direction, but coming into a zone getting flow in a different direction. That's a scenario that could make some spin.

I’m in ascension and was just reading your post thinking “huh, must not be at the surface”. Then suddenly the wind gusted to probably 50mph.
