Thanks. I’ve been addicted to Chasing Cardboard for a while.

Can you email a full list of cards? We can get to condition and all later if necessary

Asked a guy I know that does a lot of card flipping
He said when he buys he doesn’t go higher than 60% of comps
He sells no less than 90%

went thru a similar process about a decade ago selling my wife’s cousin’s collection, which was mostly mid 1950s-early 1960s
found this place online: Net54Baseball
old school interwebs forum, lots of helpful folks and a few scammers but you figure them out quickly
found a guy named Sean Basik who took the entire collection (some of which was irreparably damaged in a flood) and offered 70% of what he believed he could sell it for, which turned out to be about $7k back to me
(would have been worth twice that if undamaged)
one downside is he has to actually take possession of them prior to his assessment, which is a risk, but he was universally regarded by the forums there as one of the most honest and fair dealers
he also said most everything post 1975 is generally worthless save for a few rarities, so take that FWIW
good luck

Any Dickie Thon cards in there?

That is typical but depends on what you have

I do have a full list but it’s just my chicken scratch handwriting along with the value I assigned to each. Nothing I could really send to you. You wouldn’t be able to read it anyway. I have two albums of stars/rookies/ HOF players etc, (846 cards) an album of specialty cards Kellogg’s 3D, Hostess singles and panel, all from the 70’s, (225 cards) several albums of commons sorted by year and alphabetically by team. I do have a spreadsheet of the number of commons from each year. Total number of those cards are just under 5,000. Also an album of football and an album of basketball, almost all from the 70’s. We also have an unopened box of Topps 1985 baseball cards, two Walter Payton Rookies. Add to that about 18k in Topps, Donruss and Fleer 85 baseball. We loaded up on Puckett, Clemens, McGwire, Gooden And Davis rookies.

I read an article last week in the NY Post about a guy who sold his entire collection and it was valued at about 7 Million. Brandon Steiner, who started Steiner Sports and CollectibleXchange helped him sell them. I’m sure you could contact them. Here is the link to the article. This dude is legit.

I got a card from inside a really, really old cereal box from my Great Grandfather’s belongings (early 1900’s maybe?) for a player named Ty (short for Tiberius maybe?) Cobb - it looks like new pretty much.
Prolly worth a little just because it’s so old (maybe?).
You want it?…

No interest, but thanks.

I don’t want to burst your bubble but my brothers and I collected baseball cards and thought we had the best collection in the world - it’s not worth shite.

Oh, and also one unopened box of 1985 Topps baseball wax packs.
Looking around, there’s two types of 1985 Topps boxes. Topps Super Baseball is fairly cheap and seems to be selling mid $20’s for a box.
Regular Topps boxes look to be priced on EBay for $500’ish, (some are always much higher) but there are lots of sellers and no one buying.
Several years ago I remember a story about people figuring out how to open older boxes/packs, check for the valuable cards, then seal them back up.

Man, I am 46 and those guys were legends when I was growing up. I think you have an incredible collection. Congrats
Based on these guys saying how little they are worth, I might go to a card show and grab some crummy condition cards of all the old greats myself (if they even have shows anymore)

The Topps Super is the jumbo size cards. I have the regular. eBay shows lots of recent sales with in the last few days with prices around the upper $500 range.
