Blue Ridge is an underrated summer vacation spot. Much less crowded than Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge and only 8 to 10 hours from SE LA.
There are many options for outdoor activities. It was our last minute replacement for Hawaii and for what it was it was a very good substitute and much cheaper.

I hear the walk in freezer at Costco is beautiful this time of year. It’s so cold that they even make you wear a mask to keep you warm.
