Seems like a decent guy. Folks I know in Lafayette speak highly of him. That said, I think he'd do better in live speeches to bring it down a level or two and just talk to people. A little less volumn and rhetoric. I've seen the adds. They seem genuine, but cliched.

He strikes me as a ULL homer that would advance the ULL agenda to the detriment of LSU if given the opportunity. Slice up funding, stack boards etc. Colors are in his propaganda and he wears it the whole commercial.
