The scariest one that I’ve seen recently is Hereditary. I highly recommend it (I love horror films).

Most of y’all have probably not heard of it. It is going to be a movie that stands the test of time.

Idiocracy

It is the future and there is nothing we can do about it. They are simply out breeding us.

Also say The Strangers. Not a great movie, but unsettling to say the least. I watch a lot of horror movies and this one kept me up at night wondering if I had just heard a knock at my door.

I thought Blair Witch Project was really scary the first time I saw it. Like scary enough that I when went home alone (wife was out of town) I was pretty spooked. We lived in the woods, and when the sun went down I would not have left the house and gone out there for any amount of money. When I watched it a second time it seemed kind of silly.

The only movie that ever gave me a nightmare was Prince of Darkness by John Carpebter I believe.

Sinister. The "movies" of the kids killing their families really freaked me out

Saw this this other night. Still thinking about that scene of the family hanging upside down over the swamp blindfolded waiting to get snagged by an alligator. Creepy stuff

Spoiler alert

That is one reason I like it. Not every scary movie should end with a happy ending. I liked Midsommar for the same reason (same director as Hereditary).

The ONLY two movies that ever had me freaked out after watching them were the first "The Strangers" and "Hereditary." Try those.
