30 mph might even be high for NOLA tomorrow.

i mean, its kinda ridiculous to issue a hurricane warning alert on sunday at 4am to an area that now might get 1 inch of rain two days later

possibly those warnings should be only given within 36 hours of landfall?

Alright here is my situation....

I own two units in the Sugar Beach Complex in Orange Beach. One i was suppose to sell and close on but it got pushed back to Friday. (ha!) that one is a lower floor up towards the front and the new one is top corner unit. Right next door they are building the new Phoenix and they still had their crane up when my father in law went by to move patio furniture in for me.

My In laws have moved down there along with other family members and they seem content to ride it out. Not thrilled about that. One is in his complex, one of the Phoenix's and the other is at her house around Terry Cove.

We have had a place down there for 5 years now and while I know about a lot of the area, there is a lot I do not know. Any input on risk, etc would be great.

I purposely was not keeping the old unit to rent out because of not wanting this much money tied up in event of a storm. I know insurance and all but still...I'm sick.

In Ivan the complexes next door collapsed from photos I have seen, assuming erosion? Now I know Ivan was a 5 and more direct hit I think

Sorry for rambling guys.

It's the nature of a shift east instead of west. Folks along the MS coast got it too, and folks in Alabama got it yesterday afternoon.

Never going to happen, for obvious reasons.

When you say lower floor, how low do you mean?

It sucks but the science just isn’t that good yet. Plus, people are different. Some will take action and other wait. Have to account for everyone.

The lower one is one off the ground. Parking is first.

Debated leaving BR today but I got my Father in Law to pull in all patio furniture and secure the doors so at this point nothing I can do.
