I sell motor oil

I had to start from scratch and have turned some minnows into big fish.

It’s really all about consistency, honesty, and them liking you. If you can show up consistently, they start to know you...and if you’re likeable and honest.....they will be customers for life

frick Salesforce. It’s been forced on us for 6 years running. SFDC usage metrics seem to take precedent over anything meaningful.

We work small, dense territories. If I need to check a CRM to recall a prior conversation, we’ve got bigger issues.

Check out callproof.com, its the app we use for tracking a salesman's day. Set up routes and can show your customers on a map on your phone if you need to see if a current customer is near your current location. A lot of features and I'm able to build sales reports off of the sites exported appointments.

A. You have bad attitude. B. If your company is properly administering Salesforce, then you have no clue how the data is used. C. If you have a head-on wreck, go down in a plane, choke on a dick and swallow your own vomit, or some other malady that ends your life, your company can recover from the loss of your personal data if you just do your fricking job now and enter the data like a good boy.

Usually just go to the dollar store and get some baggies and twist ties.

How did y'all begin your jobs as salesmen? Did it involve starting up from nothing or did you have some sort of established customer base that you maintained and grew?

First you take the leftover, forgotten, bad paying clients. Try to practice on them while you go out to get your own.
