then only avg 40 hours per week. im salary and other then the 4 times a year i have on call duty...i dont ever work more than 40.

and if i have to work on those weeks i have call...i take off early the next week.

This 100%. And if I need to take off a couple hours early for an appointment or something, I do it without needing to use PTO/sick time. Hell most Fridays I dip out a couple hours early if i'm finished with my work for the week (which usually I am).

There's a lot of benefits to either type of pay, it all depends on what the job expects of you.

FWIW OP is the same guy who said PTO shouldn’t exist. That companies should just pay their people more money.

Interesting. So OP is a miserable workaholic that hates how much his peers enjoy their work/life balance while he doesn’t do jack shite but work and complain about it. What a crappy life

Hourly until your 45 then salary until you retire . Hourly you can make more while your young . Pay things off and invest . Then go salary and relax

As the hourly tell me when I decide to come in on a Saturday for 3 hours and they work 8-12, "You get fringe benefits."

Kids are probably close to grown by the time you’re 45, spend time with them while they grow instead of at work.

Something a few pages back reminded me of working at a CPA firm back in the days. It was a combo of billable hours targets each month and it paid overtime. Some young idiots abused it. They would conveniently end up with about 45-50 hours a week, but only 30 being billable in the summer time. I get that we had training and times where we were waiting on a manager or partner to review work and we were sitting around talking sports, but then they would stay an hour extra every night to “finish up” and get that overtime. It quickly turned into no more OT for anyone.
