Pretty much me too.
The new video changed my perspective on Salamoni. I'm not sure if he did anything criminal but I don't think he acted appropriately and the termination was justified. The other cop didn't do anything wrong to me.

Do you know him personally or are you judging him from a few minutes of video footage? If you don't know him personally then go frick yourself.

You nailed me! I’m impressed you are able to classify my stance based solely on a few posts! You are correct sir

Never judge a man or professional based solely on a 1 min video. I wish you could sit and watch video of a 1 week shift then cast judgement

I see...so show me in policy the statement that says, you shall be terminated if an AG hired expert says you are wrong.
I'd be happy to go through BRPD policy if you can produce it. Since none of us have it, I'm going to rely on the two independent experts.

It’s all semantics...2 things to remember: Salamoni was never going to work again in this town. SWB just guaranteed a check being cut to Salamoni AND AS family, the way she handled it. In the end she costs taxpayers more money with her agenda
None of this is relevant to the discussion

But if it had gone the other way, and the governmental employee had been killed, would that have been better for you? Were happy when the cops were picked off in BR, since they were cops? I'm not trying to antagonize you. I just don't understand.
Again, I'm not going to get into my thoughts on how it should have been handled by the cop. I'm trying to understand if you would condone Alton killing anyone. Cop or not.

If you can’t produce it or go over it, you base your conclusion from the report received from the chief delivered to you by the news then, correct?

Link to PDF that has link to BRPD Use a of Force policy
The policy is incredibly vague, probably for good reason.

Same here. I was in his corner but now, frick that guy.

You are correct sir and have identified the systemic problem. AS death, Salamoni’s life along with countless other lives are affected daily because of this single thing.
Posted on 3/31/18 at 10:06 am to ellishughtiger
I never knew the guy personally, but he dated a girl I grew up with for several years back when we were all in high school. I feel like I remember him going to Catholic, but I could be wrong.
It’s weird to see someone your age going through all of this. Feels like we are still kids at this age.

One expert called the tackle terrible and the other called it a good move. The two fricking experts couldn’t agree and yet they use one to justify firing Salamoni. If that’s not some bullshite, I don’t know what is.
Experts disagree all the time in legal proceedings and, when that happens, we rely on the finder of fact to lend more credibility to the one with the best reasoning.
Key's explanation of why the tackle was very poor procedure makes a ton of sense when you watch the full video. Both Salamoni and Lake are at a safe distance and drawn on Sterling before the tackle. While tense, the situation is realitively under control. Any movement by Sterling by a weapon at that point would result in immediate use of justified force by either officer. However, once Salamoni tackles Sterling, neither officer can adequately cover the other thus putting both at tremendous risk.

Fact remains that the single major contributing factor why AS is dead....Is AS...He chose to put a pistol in his pocket, hit the drug buffet and aggressively resist the blue helmet oppressors. If he complies, gets arrested, gets Trudy White, he is likely selling “bottoms mix cd’s” today...
No argument here. This conversation is separate from the discussion of whether or not Salamoni's actions followed BRPD protocol.
At a minimum, Salamoni's behavior was a bad look for the department.

That's a garabage report; I've read it before.
And it only gives mention of the preamble of excessive use of force.

I know a few BR cops and I'm well aware of the shite they deal with in NBR. I don't see how anyone can objectively watch that video and not find the initial behavior of Salamoni overly aggressive.
Sterling was a dumbass too for not complying and letting them cuff him. He would still be alive if he had. Probably because he was on an impressive drug cocktail.
