The dollar is getting more worthless because boomers voted for inflation so millenials couldn’t afford houses

$64 in ‘71 has the purchasing power of $512 today.

That means that someone working at McDonalds in 71 would be considered near the poverty line today.

Maybe if y’all spent less time making up myths about the past, you might do better with the present.

You know. We did get something from McDonalds beyond wages. You learned how to be systematic and efficient. You learned that when someone yelled “bus!” you were going to be busting arse for about an hour, and you had better get ahead now because you were sunk if you got behind. You learned how to work with all people.

The pay was crap. The experience was valuable.
