If I remember correctly synvisc is the only hylaurnoic acid injection that is actually made from the rooster comb and is not recommended for anyone with an egg allergy, the other brands are made synthetically, I have had orthovisc and euflexxa, and both work great for me, I get 3 shots in each knee every 6 months for the last several years , and have never had one hurt more than. 1/10, maybe my dr is better at giving injections??? I will continue with this program until it does not work, then try PRP and eventually will have a total replacement, my acl has been completely torn for 35 years, knee is trash

My wife got this done every 4-6 months for a few years.

For mothers day I bought her some really nice flip flop type shoes to wear. They were Vionics and were like 90 bucks. Her knee pain went away. It's the only shoe she will wear now. She hasn't had injections for a year and a half and has no pain.

They also make men's shoes. It's worth a try.

At some point a surgeon will also tell you that your knee is the worst they’ve ever seen

Yes very common statement from a surgeon, they set it up so they can not lose, surgery goes great then thel look awesome, things don’t go great, well it was the worst he had ever seen…… I would respond … wow if this is the worst you have ever seen, do you feel comfortable operating on it? Maybe I should go to someone who has worked with knees this bad???

I have a torn meniscus also. Been hurting like hell for about a year. Tried cortizone injection and nothing.
Just did my first gel shot Monday.
If this doesn't work, will get it scoped.
Dr said since mine is just pain (doesn't pop or lock or anything) that scoping or the gel shots are hit or miss.

Hoping this works.

Had my meniscus scoped 6 1/2 weeks ago. 20 min.procdure. The recovery afterwards is getting your quads and hamstring built back up b/c they have to learn to compensate for the part of cartlidge that is now gone.

I would say that my recovery is at 75% as of now.
