The adjuster is not a roofer and is not going to fix your roof. If the roofer is local and reputable then take plenty of photos and let him repair whatever he thinks needs to be repaired. Get detailed invoice from him and submit it to your insurance adjuster when he gets there. The insurance company will pay it. They will have no basis for refusal of the repair.

So if the roofer charges double the usual and customary rate per square your insurance should just pay it because you were not patient enough to wait for an adjuster to inspect. Don't think so.

No it is not appropriate; however, a word of warning. IF you have active leaking and the adjuster won't come out for weeks, either Tarp it and make sure it doesn't leak or get the roof repaired. Don't want to have to deal with hidden mold.

I know a lot of roofers and roofing companies in the area and across America. I used to do IT and build websites for a lot of those scumbags If you tell me the name of the company I can tell you if they are shady or not.

You better make sure that roofer is licensed and legit.

Not sure the OT should get advice from someone who screwed up so bad, they're now in lawsuit. Especially when their advice is bad
