I have had State Farm for30 years. They replaced my entire roof and covered a rebuild and replace of the entire inside of my house after Katrina due to water damage from my roofing material being shredded. They even paid me for living expenses for 7 months until the house was completed. For Ida, they paid for a new roof in addition to a fallen tree and fence replacement. State Farm has been wonderful to me and I will sing my praises to them till the day I die. Just one person’s experience.
Same here! State Farm isn’t the largest home and auto insurance company in America because they don’t pay out claims

but 3 tabs are only "rated for 20 years
You pretty much have to special order 20 year 3 tab shingles. Most houses with 3 tab shingles have the 25 year 3 tab shingles

That was not the case 16 years ago, when they were allegedly installed. I can agree if we're talking about today.

Over 40 years with Joan Mire at State Farm. Three trees on house. Gustav+straight line winds in April+Ida. Nearly $100k. Always treated like family. First name basis. They work with me too keep my premium down. Great agent. Adjusters can be a pain. Joan and Margie will keep them straight.

Imagine shilling for roofers whom are one of several primary reasons for insane insurance premiums.
Do you have data to back this up?
Insurance companies did it to themselves. Do you think they could just keep lowballing people and people would not then try to get over on them. Either way, State Farm should be embarrassed sending someone like that jackass in the field.

Allstate .
Allstate replaced my roof due to what I considered minor hale damage, no hassle at all, $16k job.

The 25 year 3 tab shingles sold today are no different than the 25 year 3 tab shingles I installed 30 years ago

They said it's much easier to work with the small/med sized insurance companies since they want to keep you as a customer.
I think the majority of the 100,00 plus people that just got dropped by those types of insurance companies would disagree with that

For sure wanna get that moisture meter out in SELA, at end of July. If your adjuster or whoever has a moisture meter he’s out to EFF someone. Just make sure it’s the carrier and not you. Moral of the story, it’s your biggest investment…. Treat it appropriately, and hire your own people to protect yourself.

But depreciation caps at 75-80%, multiplied by how many people south of I-10 insist that cinder blocks stacked 20 ft high and a camper tossed on top = a home
