I missed Norman's press conference but I am curious what other evidence came out that suddenly led to the arrest. With McKnight be unarmed they could have arrested him that night for manslaughter and a judge would have found PC.

His attorney is apparently already demanding that he be released. He has filed a motion. I suppose this is standard procedure . Source tmz

If he can't make bond the attorney filed a motion for preliminary exam to determine if PC exists to hold him with bond.

Try to stay on topic...I already got pm'd today....
ON TOPIC...I think they are going to try and show he feared for his life from something McK. did or said. His lawyer will try to exclude many statements made before representation was present.

I have no doubt JP read him his rights and had the waiver of rights form signed and had him verbally do it for the recording.

With a gun found, its easily an excuse for Gasser to shoot.
Except McKnight didn't have a gun

You are right. More white people will want the guy to face prison time if he is guilty than blacks would if it was a black guy killing a white guy.

Mcknight had a gun in the vehicle.

poor wording, there was a gun in the vehicle being driven by McKnight. Neither the vehicle nor gun were owned by McKnight.

Newell Normand at the press conference this morning.

Normand said a gun belonging to McKnight’s stepfather was found inside the car McKnight was driving — which also belonged to the stepfather — but there is no evidence McKnight told Gasser about the gun.

I didn't get to hear all of the press conference. Did Normand talk about any evidence that McKnight made any threats about having a gun during the conference? I don't know if he talked about that.

No

I'm not understanding exactly how you plan to orchestrate this easily getting him off.
There are two huge variables that we don't know but that a good lawyer and frankly the evidence may prove:
1.) Did McKnight have access to the gun in the car and if so could Gasser of seen it?
2.) Was McKnight out of his car and trying to break into Gassers'?
A good lawyer can easily throw all kinds of doubt with both of those. So really IMO its now up to the prosecution to prove those without a doubt. I don't see how you can doubt this?
Again, at this point and this is just a huge guess here, but I would bet that Gasser pleads to something pretty small. Maybe 2-3 years or something. He seems remorseful, he clearly did it, he has a history of this (is that allowed in court)? There's a lot of doubt on both sides, I don't see the prosecution pushing for a heavy sentence if they can just get him to plead and move on.
