According to the websites listed in the thread, I could sell my submariner I bought in 1999 for $2100 (used) for 8-10k? Is that right? I rarely wear it.
If you're going to sell, do it now or soon.

I can still buy a mint JLC Polaris, which is a better watch than anything Rolex makes, for less than the price of a used Sub. Rolex prices need to drop at least another 50% across the board for them to be realistically valued.

Yeah I’d take the cash and invest it. If I showed up to my “no collar” workplace wearing a Rolex I’d get my arse laughed at in the software industry
I work in consulting on the software side, and several of my co-workers wear Rolexes.

I would never condone purchasing one at secondary pricing, but I think they are a solid value at retail.
If you want bang for your buck, Tudor is the way to go.

I don’t know how I feel about second hand watches
I feel purdy damn good about em.
Especially 70s classics like my new addition.

Recently bought a BB58, and I'm very pleased with it.

The new Black Bay Pro is sexy. Definitely on my short list, also just picked up a Rolex Explorer I for my dad today, that’s also a sexy one (it’s the new 36 mm version). Pays to have good connects, was on the “list” for literally less than 24 hours before getting the call.
