At the end of the day nothing has changed in New Orleans. Crime is still high, can't pay police, can't pay fireman, can't pay teachers, roads still stink and big corporations left decades ago. Democrats have run this city for decades and have done nothing for the people they are paid to represent

Beauregard should have stayed. He supported racial equality during Reconstruction and was one of the founders of what became the streetcar line.
Lee had no ties to New Orleans, and Davis got sick while passing through and died in the Garden District.
The real losers are the taxpayers. Could have just changed the street name back to Tivoli Circle for a fraction of the money, and let everyone forget who was on top of the column.
