They released one of the body cam videos. So the cops went banging on the wrong door in the middle of the night. There was a domestic violence call they were responding to, so I am assuming their awareness was heightened. Home owner (Robert) answers with a gun in his hand and the cops shoot him. His wife then picks up the gun and returns fire, but ultimately backs down and surrenders. Go to the 3 minute 50 second mark of the video. Was Robert raising his weapon after opening the door? Can't say I blame him. People are banging on your door in the middle of the night and when you open the door all you see are bodies in the yard with flashlights. Will the cops be charged? Or just the police department held accountable and pay the family?

There will be zero accountability for anyone involved & these innocent people lost their lives with their family getting little recourse if any.

Not victim blaming but why did dude even open the door? Also I wonder if backup went to the correct address to find no one there.

There will be bootlickers in this thread. That’s a guarantee.

Because anyone capable of weighing both sides of an issue is always a bootlicker.

The world is full of dimwits. Try not to be one.

Yeah, this is another great lesson on never opening your door

This is the problem.

What should be agreeable to every American is if you are involved in the harm of an innocent person, using excessive force, or caught lying in any official capacity you should no longer be eligible to work in any role in law enforcement effective immediately.

It’s funny. Dimwit is just one many words that are appropriate for a person that thinks there’s another side to ‘cops frick up by murdering innocent man in his own home exercising his 2nd amendment rights’

Unfortunately, because of qualified immunity, which allows for the government to frick up nothing will be done about this. It needs to go away.

Unfortunately nothing will change. Many people on the right still worship cops and those on the left need a police state to enforce their socialist utopia.

Nothing will happen here. Qualified immunity and the wrong type of victim...

I’m sure their FOP will protect them as usual.

One of the things that LMPD here caught doing was far too regularly raiding the wrong house. Of course their officers also lie to obtain warrants, so this isn’t shocking. It’s why this kind of thing effects ALL of us.

Sadly, that’s the kind of shite that over shadows really great cops like the ones that neutralized the National Bank shooter.

If Robert is white, he had this coming.

If Robert is black, this is a problem that must be solved.

This why I’m grateful to have my Ring camera. Our nextdoor neighbors are some folks in their 20-30s that regularly have folks over on the weekends. One of their guests a couple weekends ago came to our door instead of theirs. We came downstairs, armed, (it was 4:00 am-ish) but checked the Ring and was able to tell them over the Ring they had the wrong house.

If it wasn’t for the camera, we probably would’ve opened the door to look out when the knocking stopped.

It’s also worth noting that they were likely hard to see given they’re wearing all black once they backed away from the porch light.
