Can you imagine the adrenaline rush walking into a bank with the intention to rob it?

our Russian adoption which required $30k in brand new, unmarked US dollars in $100 or lower denominations.

Is this typical for an adoption? I know it worked out for you but I think I’d have gone another direction if the agency made that type of request.

I would think the easiest banks to rob would be small branches in rural towns, particularly towns with no police force under sheriffs jurisdiction. Could get in and out fast before any LEO shows up

There is a branch in a small community that even the sheriff’s deputies have nicknamed “The stop and rob”. It’s close to the interstate, has several roads leading away from it including a web of county roads, and is a good piece away from the headquarters of any law enforcement.

Kicker is…. It’s never been robbed. But even law enforcement says it’s inevitable.

I worked in banking like 30 years ago. The saying was it's much easier to rob a bank with a pen than a gun. The amount banks lose on fraud is staggering.

A friend of mine was an auditor for a firm and was assigned to a bank. He found a payment for taxes.. nearly a quarter of a million dollars.. that had been paid twice.

The bank had a subsidiary that they paid the tax on. While they did that.. they rolled the subsidiary into another and paid the tax again. The bank should have had a quarter of a million dollar loss they should have been looking for.

They never knew it was missing.

They wound up fixing the error and getting a quarter of a million back from the IRS they didn’t know they were due.

Very typical for Russian adoptions. It wasn’t the agency request, it was the Russian Ministry requirements. Not to mention all the “gifts” for officials to “thank them” after the adoption was complete.

Shut up, dingus. I was using the term the Russian government used and the term used when ordering the bills.

Bank robbery is such a bad idea.

From what I've seen/read many of the gang members who are active have been involved with a bank robbery.

I recently read a book by Pete Earley, he was speaking to an inmate in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas back when this prison was the supermax, 80s-90s~

The inmate, like always, talks about the injustices in our system, which we all know exist just to a lesser degree. He tells how he was in for a bank robbery, and he did it when he was 18.

The inmate goes on to state that it was the worst decision of his life because they didnt realize bank robberies were federal and flat time sentences. So, this means when he was locked up at 18 he was in a level 4 facility with the worst of the worst criminals in he United States. Rember this is Federal Prison, the big dogs.

You have a decision at that point to be man and hold the line or not. The issue for him was it doesn't matter if you were clicked up or not because he was white. If he wasnt down to join a white gang that was fine, you can go lone wolf but if a wood gets attacked you are still obligated to jump in or face the repercussions of the AB. At 18 with a 15-20 year flat time sentence you are almost bound to get wrapped up in other things that lead to more time.

He goes on to mention the many murderers that would be getting out on parole before his robbery sentence even ended because of DAs cutting deals and because of that he acts out as do many other prisoners. He refuses to accept that a guy who cuts off a girls arms and almost kills her gets out in 7 years yet he's been locked up over 20 primarily due to a bank robbery and gang affiliation within in prison.

Crazy shite, great book.

Become buddies with a loan officer 2. Have him issue a loan using nonexistent or overvalued collateral in exchange for a kickback.

Some catfish farmers did this in the late 90s early 2000s in humphreys county with federal backed 9010 farm loans. I think it was around 70 million dollars worth. Loan officer who was complicit conveniently had a heart attack a week before testifying and died. Very little of the money was ever recovered

Pretty sure that was Frank Abagnale that said he did that
