What a couple of idiots. If either one had listened to their wife it wouldn't have happened. Doyles wife wanted to go to the police sub-station but I think Doyle went home because he wanted to shoot him and thought Stand Your Ground was going to protect him. The other guy was a complete moron for putting his family in that situation. One or both of those kids could be dead right now.
Man, that second 911 call was hard to listen to. Holding those children at gunpoint is going to add a lot of time to his sentence, as it should.

Um...the guy was a huge dude. He charged and punched my buddy, then my buddy went inside to call the cops. When he opened the door, the guy had pulled his gf out of the car and was choking her. How does that make him/me a shitty person?
In my experience, these things do not happen to good people. Good people have an uncanny knack for finding ways to avoid situations such as this. I'm not saying that he was wrong in the particular case you're referencing, but the odds are pretty damn good that he was a shitty person in general.
For example, if you've been in more than 3-4 full blown fist fights, you're probably not a good person. You may have been justified in every fight, but finding yourself in that many fights points to a bigger problem.
Just my $.02.

This is Florida, he probably wont even be convicted of anything. Once its all said and done they will probably charge the children with trespassing.

Potentially justifiable according to a few in this thread.
I question the sanity of those who do not believe Doyle committed a crime.

Well, Antonio Moss and his sweet Southern Law degree say otherwise.

Was the cop committing a crime?
You're trying to put police safety over citizen safety. They are not more important than regular people

This thread should be Exhibit A. in reference to your signature.

And how is this not 1st degree murder? He told the 911 operator that he was going to shoot him and.... he shot and killed him. He planned on doing it so it should be first degree. Both of these guys make me

Yes, he started this whole thing with the road rage. There is evidence to back that up.

GTFO. I've don no such thing.

You've admitted yourself that you're not the greatest guy, why are you getting all defensive when someone else says it?

He basically admitted as much to the 911 operator while he was still driving. He told the operator he was going to stop and put a gun to the other guy's head well before it happened. He was unequivocal about it too. That's one of the main reasons he will be convicted of some sort of homicide.

I think the way this played out, Doyle's actions could be classified as more of "in the moment / crime of passion" rather than premeditated.
It's true that he said he was going to put a gun the guy's head while they were still driving, but it was so close in time to the actual shots fired that I think the safer charge is second degree (crime of passion) murder rather than first degree.

see those crime scene curtains. I always imaged a big one to cover accidents to stop rubbernecking.
