I am 55, and I have never seen that stretch without it.

we’ve given up and just take 190 to highway 12 every single trip back from BR. All it takes is one accident or traffic through never ending construction on I10 and it’s a 6-7+ hour drive.

Do you think you will live long enough to see a day when there is no road construction between Lake Charles and Houston?
Maybe once hyper inflation hits Louisiana and Texas hard and they can no longer use Monopoly money from the feds to keep building new roads. Then there will be no more construction.
But then you won’t have any gas to drive there anymore because gas is 30 dollars a gallon. If you do have the funds to drive there, it will be smooth sailing between the half constructed roadway and abandoned construction cones and equipment.

quote:Try doing it pulling your own trailer/car hauler. Looking in the mirrors, My tires on the trailer were 6” from the wall on my right and about the same from the 18-wheeler’s tires on my left. White knuckles for sure.
s not just the delays, though. Some of the temporary roads are rougher than Louisiana back roads and can get scary bouncing around on them 6 inches from the concrete barriers they have up while an 18 wheeler is next to you on the other side.
