Would love nothing more than seeing Riverside towing eat it. They have some young college aged people driving for them. I got in a shouting match one night by that McDonald's in Tigerland asking him why he sold his soul to the devil.

For a fee, no doubt.

A fee which, presumably, he'll recoup from Riverside towing. Probably worth it to give him a call. More people should make Riverside's life hell than just paying the money and taking it.

I know a kid who recognized one of the Riverside towing drivers while off-duty in a bar, so he got real liquored up and proceeded to beat the ever living shite out of that human tow garbage. Somehow that bastard got out of any charges

Exactly. Every tow should be contested. Make it to where they can't even drive around town without being harassed from all angles.

I bet that was extremely satisfying.

Why Riverside gets all the blame and none of it is ever placed on the businesses that hire them amazes me. Some of that anger needs to be directed at those buisnesses

quote:

I know a little bit about this, as my cousin used to be a manager at that BWW, and I've parked there for gamedays, but he gave me a tag to put on my dashboard saying I was a BWW employee. The guy who owns the lot also owns the buildings the businesses are in and the apartment complex. He rides around in a golf cart, and has someone with binoculars on top of the complex watching people park and get out of their cars. If they don't go to one of the businesses, they call for a tow truck.

It's easy. Just to be safe and not get your car towed, boycott the entire north gate community.

Exactly.

St. Tammany is exactly the same way.

I guess b/c everyone is so busy in Mandeville solving the "real crime".

frick Riverside towing, but the government going after tow truck companies is a little funny when the government charges for bullshite fees like renewable plates and registration on vehicles (inspection stickers are legitimate to renew though) or any other fines the DMV can do.

I get that it's congress and not local governments...

$8,000

I'd pay that just to watch the SOB that owns Riverside get beat half to death with a baseball bat.

When I was in the military I had my car towed from my buddy's driveway while we were deployed. Didn't find out until months later.

The company had been charging me per day for 7 months before I finally got home. They wanted more than the car was worth to get it back.

Turned out the neighborhood owned the driveways and homeowners just owned the houses. They didn't want anything to do with helping me out.

Only option was to sue my buddy, which I didn't do.
Lost my vehicle all together.

I think this same company had a history of stealing from/preying on military members.
Some tow companies really are the scum of the earth.

Yes I bought a new car rather than pay more than the value of my old car to get it back

Tried legal routes to get it back but I was young and it wasn't as easy as you'd think.

They ripped the front bumper moving it and then say "we are not responsible for damage"

Back in the early '80s, NOLA parking enforcement was contracting out towing to some private comoanies. I h ad a '78 Camara that was my pride and joy. They towed the Camara one night from Conti St. while I was at Pat O'Briens. They too ripped the front bumpor off. I filed a claim with the city and the city made the tow truck company pay for me to get my car fixed.
