I was referring to oleyeller Vol dude.

I am from the area and had a friend build a camp up many years ago outside of Johnson Station.

design it to withstand a 100 year storm, not just "well this is where it got last time"

I'd rather overdesign it than under design it

The elevation drawings of your proposed camp looks awesome! I live in that area and spend a lot of time fishing the Johnson Station end of the river.

When that river really gets up, you'll be glad your camp is elevated 10 feet.

Is Johnson Station a specific place - or just the road?

Why don't we build floating camps like we build floating docks?

I mainly drift fish out of a kayak. Like Cdawg said, fish logs and banks downstream. September and October are by far the best river fishing months on the Bogue Chitto. A 2lb bass in river current on a kayak is a lot more fun than it sounds.

I have a camp in Terrebonne Parish and it is 11 feet off the ground. I wish we had room for an exterior elevator.

Why don't we build everything like that?

The idea has been around for a while in The Netherlands:

There's a developer from NO that has a plan like that for some land they have on the Pearl River south of Bogalusa.
