That's correct. BJ Honeycutt always felt like a manufactured character, not genuine, too forced, never funny.

That's how I felt. It totally changed the character of the show.

Wow, you're the worst poster of all time.

How much older is your wife than you?

Show wasn't the same after he left.

I think he was the most liked character to leave. Left because he refused to sign a morality clause. Pretty amazing the show continued its success with how many major characters were replaced. Trapper John, Henry Blake and Frank Burns. The last Henry Blake episode is one of my favorite TV shows.

Frank was a huge part of that show. The show with Blake, trapper, and frank were the best. But the show was a great sitcom and lives on in reruns. Haven't seen it in a while though...

Alan Alda took over writing at some point, not sure when. The series took on a more serious theme when he did. One thing I always find strange is that Alda has generally played bad guy characters since the series. A complete 180 from his Hawkeye character.

You're an obvious idiot. Wayne Rogers had not anywhere near the celebrity stature of someone like Robin Williams.

Rex why are you so interested in vacuous media celebrities who are created by the multinational corporations in order to distract the people from the real issues and oppress minorities?

Loved the episode when he was volunteered to box/fight against another boxer from another mash unit. They put some kind of drug on his gloves and he kept sticking his gloves in the face of the other boxer who eventually passed out. Funny shite.

If I remember correctly..... When Radar announced his death to the staff in surgery, they either didn't rehearse it or did just once to get the actor's 'close to real' response. The instrument you hear that falls in the silence was not planned. Great episode

One of my favorite Trapper moments was when they were watching Henry's home movies:

HENRY: Yeah, that's Mel, he's the gynecologist next door.

HAWKEYE: Everybody should have a gynecologist next door.

TRAPPER: I'm afraid to ask what's on the other side.

95% of the time they would give the best jokes to Alda. This is a rare example of Rogers getting a classic.
