Just replaced mine for under 4k. Only outside unit needed replacing. Dennicola is the way to go for BR area

He’s not completely wrong. On January 1st 2023 all current SEER requirements Will go up by 1 SEER and in the South East we are currently at 14 and Will go up to 15.

You do not put 410a in a 22 system.
You recover whats left change filter dryer, vacuum, then charge with R 427a.
