For the record, I have a 9mm and a 20 gauge hidden downstairs.

Upstairs I have another 20 gauge in my closet and a .380 in my night stand.

I also keep a .40 in my briefcase that i carry with me everywhere, when I’m home it’s in my office.

All my other hunting shotguns and rifles including my AR are locked up in a safe.

At that point you just do the mud butt or the pants down shuffle to the nightstand.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have. I live in a nice neghborhood...last I checked people weren't breaking into houses in dumpsville because there is nothing there to steal.

I haven't seen this model before but I like it. With the 3"barrel is it easy to wear as a CCW?

Get a 357 mag

Can shoot 38 special as well but 357 mag is a crackhead stopper

Shotgun is by far your best option for home defense

pump action shotgun with the shortest barrel you can legally put on it.

Remove the plug and mount a tactical flash light on it too

Its a .45 and can shoot .410 bore shells, but that's the best home defense revolver IMO

And those.410 personal defense rounds they make for those guns...yikes. Those things will do serious damage.

Very much so. My wife has a Ruger SP101 .38 Special and it’s virtually the same exact size. I carry it in a inside the waist holster all the time.

ETA: I recommend Hornady Critical Defense hollow points for ammo.

That's part of our problem is we have a daughter and I would feel better with a handgun while my wife grabs the shotgun out of the safe for backup in case SHTF.

Get a Smith and Wesson model 10 with a 4” barrel. Since most were police issued, you can find them for $300 or less. The .38 in that pistol is extremely accurate and very easy to handle. If you run out of ammo and still haven’t hit anything, the pistol is heavy enough to use to beat the person to death.
