What’s your favorite episode of Murder, She Wrote?
Haven't seen one since I was a kid. Favorite TV show is Workaholics.

AMA.
Roughly what percentage of your time was standing by to stand by?

The Navy was pretty good to me. Visited a lot a places I never would have, either.
I'm a big fan of the Navy. Always use their RV parks and campsites since they are actually in good locations unlike the Army.

At least half. I have the Smoking and Joking ASI on my SRB.

Started out in reserves switched to active duty went to the dark side first armor then FA.
You really fricked up going from the Combat Arm of Decision to the King of Battle. Only good Cavalry troopers get in to the Fiddlers Green.
Congratulations. I retired from the Army 10 years ago and I wouldn't change a thing.

How many barracks rats did you slay in your younger days?
Cannot confirm or deny that I won any payday hog hunts.

Why didn't you hit 25?
Just woke up one day decided I was done. The old timers always told me you'll know when it's time to go. I'm very fortunate to be able to walk on my own terms and timeline - lot of luck and timing goes into careers and things worked out for me.

On duty - Serbia
I heard Serbia and Croatia weren’t so nice during their war.
Some of the stories from over there during that time are tough to listen to but I can see how it would be a top place to visit now.

How many combat deployments?
And where?
And where?

Loved both. Belgrade has a really unique history and culture - the vibe there is unlike anything else I've done work wise. It's also interesting being somewhere that in recent history we were the bad guys. Their MOD building that was bombed in 1999 is still left up as a monument to NATO aggression. They have a museum with Scott O'Grady's flight suit and pieces of the stealth bomber they shot down.
Croatia has changed a lot since it went on the Euro and is losing some of the old Europe feel.

I was in Bosnia on the Serb border at Camp Dobol in 1999. Kosovo kicked off. We crossed the Drina River into Serbia and took a few of their military bases like the Drina Wolves.
They were ruthless and committed some crazy acts of genocide. Beautiful landscape and interesting people.

Incredibly complex region. Who the bad guys are depends on where you stop the clock of history.
The Croats were so ruthless in WW2 that even the Nazis were like hey maybe tone it down a notch.
There's a great documentary from the late 1990s called "Balkans in Flames" that lays it all out from ancient history to modern times.

I’m thinking about going back in. How difficult would it be to have a dog while in a high speed unit?
Any reasonable service member boarding services for FTX etc?

They were right next to the weak spots in the armor on our tanks and brads.

Not really. Most people leave their pets with friends or just don't have them if they are single.
