If you’re in a Right to Work state, don’t be surprised if you’re led out either day of or next day and are not paid for the two weeks.
Happened to me at my last job. Gave my notice on a Tuesday, they told me that the next day would be my last day but that I would be paid through Friday. They acted like they were Mother Teresa when they included through Friday.
Nothing you can do if you’re in a Right to Work state. Plan accordingly.

I've heard of this happening in an insurance company or finance company because the reasoning is that they don't want you using those 2 weeks to tell clients that you're leaving and possibly setting up shop with a competitor, but I haven't heard of this as a blanket approach in a right to work state.

frick that shite. They showed how quick they were to drop people, cut their pay, not give cost of living increases for decades, garbage for health insurance. They get the 2 day notice. I'm leaving today.
If they could find someone to do your job for a quarter less than you an hour your arse would be gone.

my boss is in another country (not because of a trip but that is where he is located).
Lmao… you’re worried about resigning from a boss from another country? Why not take his job? He obviously sucks at it.

Be a man and tell him in person.

Regardless. I still tip your wife handsomely for the services.

There is no loyalty in corporate America anymore. Put in your 2 weeks but don’t be surprised if they let you go immediately

Such an antiquated way of doing things.
I quit my last job with a "today" notice. I was respectful and made sure there was no reason for them to need to contact me for anything.
Depends on the job, but it's kind of a dick move to blindside them and not give them any coverage on your way out. If someone quit on my team and gave no notice it would burn a bridge with me.
At least offer it and they can decline.

Just quit and don't say anything. If they ask, tell them you've moved past working remotely and are now working telepathically, and it's their fault if they haven't changed with the times to be able to accept your resignation.

Well most anyone can drop fries.
Well, since you decided to go there, I quit my job as a LEO.
I wasn't going to give a two weeks notice because I had mentally "checked out".
Being a cop deserves 100% focus. To do anything less is to increase the chances of you or someone else being hurt/killed.
So, in all honesty, frick how they took it. My ultimate responsibility was/is to my family and myself.
