After living my first 30 years in N.O. I hauled arse as soon as I had completed my education. Being the victim of five felonies tends to prompt that act. None of the perpetrators resembled Lee, Beauregard or Davis.

I treat it as a playground now, returning only for Saints games and the occasional restaurant.

Mitch just showed we aren't welcome here. Honest, tax paying, hard working, middle to upper class people of any race are not welcome here. Especially if they're white. We aren't welcome here and we won't be listened to.

It's the exact opposite.

It's just some of your White Supremacists idols/monuments of the past aren't welcome( publicly at least).

They were given their citizenship back, dumbass. If the US doesn't hold a grudge, why should you?

The only people holding grudges were the Lost Cause leaders who put these statues up to the CSA traitors to begin with.

Ask Homer Plessy & Ruby Bridges or see Mr. "Jim Crow" about who held grudges for nearly a century after the Civil War.

Explaining the myths behind the Civul War,link to article

Is history being rewritten? Will we ever know the truth?

As this presidential cycle has shown us- the truth can be distorted to steer a perception and message. Can we believe what is in our textbooks? 100 years from now- what will the message be- how will history depict actual events?

It doesn't want to hear this noise. It just wants to be offended and do some more hating. Only way to keep them suppressed is to have them looking backward for their excuses. It's a hard puzzle for them to solve...been working on it since crow and before. I guess whitey keeps changing the answer when they start getting close?

Another week of the make believe Landrieu world is about to begin. Since Landrieu is ignoring the city of New Orleans stuff like crime, economy, etc, what's his next move to add to his legacy?

Cotton must be removed from aspirin bottles.  Being forced to pick cotton to get some pain relief just reminds me of slavery and white supremacy. It is a symbol of racism. We need Malcolm Suber to file suit In one of the Landrieu family members courtrooms to right this wrong.

The fact is they were traitors and they fought against the United States.

They wanted to peacefully leave, and weren't allowed to

And be careful in your reply, otherwise you will have to admit that Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc. were also traitors to the authority that once governed our land
