Thank you so much. I would never scam anyone. I try to help as much as I can however I can. Thankfully a poster in this thread that knows my dad has verified what I said. I actually still feel bad for even asking, but I know my dad is going to be so excited. I actually finally showed him what was going on and he is in awe. The relief he has is tremendous, because he was really worried. He sees this as an answer to prayer.

That's a really nice offer. He's in Lafayette. Maybe you could reach out to me at my e-mail. Thanks.

My dad's dream van would be something like this.

LINK

Just an example of one I found on FB, but we've been searching cargurus, carmax, etc all over the country. The 250 version of this Transit would handle the weight he needs to tow.

He really prefers that it has windows in the back and on the side like this one. Many of them they don't which makes the searching a bit more challenging. For some reason it seems like San Antonio, Texas has more of these than any other city in the country. Which isn't too far from family we could have go test them out.

I found one willing to deliver from Florida that would include an extended warranty. If there are any dealers willing to sell wholesale that would be really nice. Saving some extra money would help with affording the insurance. I'd hate to get a lemon after all this, so I feel at least a warranty on a used vehicle would help.

Thanks so much, Fat Fingers. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement, because I do still feel bad at times for asking. I know once we get his vehicle we will feel so much better. I know my father is already relieved to learn about all of this. God bless you. Seriously, thank you.

That's really nice of you. I actually don't like all the attention though. I think I prefer not being stickied.

God bless your father for taking care of his disabled Children. It’s a shame he still has to work. You said that you have your own limitations. Could you not take over his role to give him some peace in his last years? Are you not more capable than him at this stage in life? He will not be around much longer so what is your plan beyond his life? It’s a more complicated answer to a question about a work van.

Why did the amount go from14 to 24?

Very fair question. So when I set it up it suggested that as an initial amount that would that always auto adjust given the amount of support received.

I did not know a good price to set initially, so I let it do the recommended starting point with the feature to automatically raise based on support received. I definitely did not want to turn anyone off, so I selected the lowest end modest recommendation with the option that it could go to more based on support received. I appreciate the extra support, because it will help with taxes, title, insurance (never had full coverage only liability), potential delivery needed. And if I can get lower miles I think that can help better long term. I also know some understand and want to give extra to ease things in general. I absolutely struggle on what is appropriate here. I would never want anyone to feel like they had to do anything. I appreciate the prayers and support as much as anything. I would ask for prayer and direction here.

I saw in a review to avoid 2015 to 2017 models.

What years are you looking at?

You can't be traveling all over to do test drives.

If you can find several possibilities in Texas, that might be easier.

I bought my prior vehicles in CT, FL and other remote places because I was searching for the exact same car as I had owned before.

Are you able to work? Asking only out of innocent curiosity. Glad this post for you has led to support for your family.

GofundMe automatically increases the goal when the amount nears the previous goal amount as a standard practice.

Thank you for explaining this. I really had no idea what to set the initial amount at. I didn't want to seem like I was being ridiculous. I still have no clue. I just wanted to see a blessing for my dad while he's still around. Sometimes he gets down realizing he worked so hard his whole life to have nothing to show for it. However, I appreciate all he did for everyone in my family. He is someone who if you asked him to do something he would do it every time. If we are giving away a free box spring or something and someone in need needed it delivered he would be hooking up his trailer to make it happen for them.
