To let you know these kind of crimes are possible and to keep your eyes open. Would you rather LSU not alert students of crimes like this on campus?

This the scariest part. It could've happened to anyone. My girlfriend walks to her car alone right there all the time. Everyone does. There are always cops around and at the time this happened there are usually other people walking around too. She's freaked out.

I give this guy only a few more hours on the run. Have the car/license...probably has a long rap sheet. I doubt he makes it very far.

My ex girlfriend used to call security and they would walk her to her car late at night on campus. You should tell your gf to take advantage of that. Sometimes they are lazy or it's really late they give them a ride to their vehicle/sorority house so it's a win - win

Across campus for sure, but the walk from her sorority house to her car is never more than like 50 feet, a walk you'd never think to need security for. Im becoming more and more in favor of her getting a small pistol to carry around after she moves out, especially after something like this happens. I couldn't even imagine.

Not a bad idea but some mace and learning to always be aware is just as useful. Plus I'm not positive, but I doubt the houses allow firearms

That wouldn't surprise me one bit, I almost posted it earlier but held back. Everyone in this thread is going off one posters "allegedly" story.
Wouldn't surprise me if the actual story was some dude tried to take her purse or rode by asking her to hop in his ride

I definitely think it's more serious than a purse snatching, because LSUPD is still on scene in force and shut down the row for a bit. I've also received pictures of police tape surrounding the area. If it wasn't something serious, there wouldn't be almost ten LSUPD cruisers still there three hours later. Just my hunch.
