Are you saying Louisiana white trash rednecks aren't dumb and fat? Obesity and idiocy know no race in our great state.
You’re right, but I wasn’t necessarily referring to race as I was people who are overweight, criminal, and poorly educated, most of whom without which the DNC would cease to exist as their entire game is based upon the lazy, uneducated, dependent, and criminal masses as they are easily controlled and manipulated for their own political purposes.

It’s cool, bro. I also eat crayons. It’s really sad that a lot of these guys blanket the military as “guys who didn’t have other options”.
They don’t realize that the military has a ton of jobs. Some of them are janitorial or just very basic and don’t require someone to score extremely high on the asvab. They’ll take that guy “bubba” from their high school class, and act like he represents all of the military. I’ve got some friends who went to Ivy League schools after leaving the Marines. A good friend of mine is finishing his JD from Columbia law in NYC at the moment. I’ve got others who are working on policy in DC at the moment.

I think they mean 75% of those trying to get in the military and not 75% of all the states you d adults. Where would they get height, weight, and all the other info from unless they tried to get in the military.

Who’s doing that?

They may may have been frick ups or not too bright, but boot camp straightened them out or they were gone.
The days of the military taking anyone are long gone. Standards to get into the military are much higher than being a local LEO. (looking at you NOPD and BRPD)

It's not a charity fat camp or a reform school.
Buddy, MOST civilians view the US military as EXACTLY that. The rest view it as a social experimentation lab. Very few have an understanding of the reality of the situation.

TOPS should be abolished immediately because the Louisiana National Guard all offer free public college tuition for those serving in their ranks. TOPS is completely unnecessary.

Generalize much?
Let me guess; daddy’s money put you through private Catholic school, then daddy’s pocket book put you through college too?
ETA: the standards for getting some jobs in the military are much more difficult than getting into LSU tbh

Most see it as both.
A place for excellent people with admirable intentions to answer a calling and serve their country, while setting themselves up for success in life.
And a place for people who are lost or out of options to give them structure, discipline, guidance, and a more secure financial situation.

I said the guys I knew for that. That’s the opposite of generalizing for everyone in the military.
I’ve also said there are other types in the military as well.
You’re quite insecure.

I see you conveniently chose not to answer the questions about dad’s money...
Did you go to private school? Who paid for it?
I’m assuming you went to college... did your Dad or mommy pay your bills?

People are thinking back to how it was 10, 20, even 30 years ago.
Now, it is way, way tougher to get in, and you will be separated pretty quickly if you get out of shape or they don't need you.
Obviously during times of conflict, standards may be lowered, think Vietnam and WWII, but it hasn't been that way in a long time.

Tell that to the National Guard who lost TOPS due to the military telling them they were going to get deployed (and didn't deploy for months) and then lost their GI Bill.

The answer is no. But it shouldn’t dignify a response. I’m not personally attacking you nor insulting all service men and women as you’re suggesting.

Draftees were indeed taken into the US Marine Corps during the last half of the Vietnam War.

It sure sounds like an attack when you say everyone you knew that joined the military were dumb or frick ups, save two guys that went to the academies. That sounds like you have a pretty strong opinion...
