I had to go to Ace Hardware to get the physical key cut since it’s the weird “high security” key that is the little line milled down the key.

What do you even need the key for?
I haven't used a key in over 5 years, and i can't think of an instance i would need one.

I bought 2 off ebay for a chevy silverado for about $15 last year and they both are still working great. Youtube video shows exactly how to program the vehicle to them.

Damn near that with Pop A Lock--$315

At the dealership. Getting a couple of valet keys (no buttons, just internal chip). $32/ key plus $77 to program.

Tiger locksmith was $145 for the valet key

eta: BatteriesPlus was the cheapest, I just don't trust the fob I have right now. So the dealership is the next best option

Will order a new key kit and transfer the transponder then get it cut.

In Bessemer, Alabama, there is a Shop that sells, knives, lighters, and other miscellaneous stuff. They also sell FOBs And keys+FOBs and programs them for you at about 25-30% of the dealer costs. I’ve used them for replacements and spares when necessary.

I know it’s not in BR but my point is that you will definitely find a place to have this done much cheaper if you google. Look on FB as well.

Sorry for the hijack. I only have 1 key fob for my Infiniti. It’s a push start so if I lose the key fob, I basically can’t use the car.

I am going to look into calling pop a lock to get a second key fob made. But right now, if I lose it. Do I basically have to call a tow truck to take it to the dealer and pay the $250ish for a new fob?

The cheapest place so far was Batteries Plus. They needed to order the key and I didn't want to wait as the fob I have now has been glued back together.

Amazingly the dealership was the next best option.

Well, I will find out tomorrow. My daughter dropped my keys down an elevator shaft yesterday: eight floors. The hotel will recover them today and overnight them.

Maybe the fob survived??
