My mom's had a pipe burst last week in her house and flooded part of her house. Anyway me and my brother got up the wood flooring in the living room and bedroom. The kitchen and utility room have linoleum, I took a scrapper and got up a small area after about an hour. Does anyone have ideas that are easier about getting it along with the glue under it up... gonna be a great 4th( sigh) tia

When I busted out some tile I used a hammer chisel and made sure to stay under linoleum so it came up too. I bought some solution from Home Depot that dissolved the glue to where I could use a big scraper.

This all day long. OP I had to remove about a 1K square feet of linoleum floor. Only thing that worked.

Was the flooring put down before 1978? If yes, I wouldn’t remove it. Install new flooring above old vinyl.

Are you replacing the subfloor under the linoleum? If so just cut all that shite out with a saw. If not, what type of flooring are you putting back? Couldn’t you just leave the linoleum and cover with new flooring?

Scrape what you can and then run some fans to dry it out. If you will be putting tile down and it’s raised floor house put backer board down after it’s dry and install tile, if on a slab go rent a floor machine and make short work of it

a rule of thumb, but it doesn't mean much

With so many building materials being produced overseas, we still get a lot of asbestos in country

I've seen buildings less than 5 years old come back with asbestos upon inspection and testing prior to a renovation.

Most people will just leave the linoleum down and let it be your base flooring. No need to pull it up.
