It might be a bit of a blessing that this thing seems to be rolling along slowly from one area to the next.
This is why curve flattening has been so important.
And no, its not like we can shite enough masks for 300M people in a week and dust our hands of it, faster than we can do things about ventilators, a highly specialized product that will target only a fraction even of the infected population.
Yeah, people do get dumb confidence when they think their simple barrier is going to be a panacea for getting infected. That and supply limitations explain why we're not seeing Masks For Everyone as a recommendation-- yet.
We may reach a phase that is so terrible, that it becomes a thing, though.

Have you seen the fricking idiots that walk around with their nose hanging out or otherwise have no idea how to wear it?
Sorry but being a dumbass that doesn’t know how to wear a mask (or learn by watching a video) isn’t a valid reason. That is where Darwin comes in

I'm willing to bet the hoarding of masks has already started. There won't be any available to the millions of us who have been waiting patiently for instructions.
Has anybody been able to find a thermometer, by the way?

It’s common sense.
You halfwits that imagine N95 masks are even half as effective as you imagine they are. Viruses are around 0.1 to 0.22 microns, N95 masks are 0.3 and larger and are not absolute rated. I have biological filters that are sub-0.2 micron absolute, which is what laboratories use to make sure that viruses are filtered out. Masks only provide their rated properties if work correctly and making a complete seal, that doesn't happen often and never happens with facial hair, incorrect size used, etc. I see people every day wearing masks with the noses exposed, worthless. Also, they don't shield the eyes.

My understanding is that mask aren’t needed but they recommend some kind of covering. I ordered a few buffs this morning. Bandanas also work.

I've been rocking my n95 for weeks when I have to get around people.
Only you retarded people believed the government's bullshite and didn't google that shite.
Thanks though. You made it easy for me to get my hands on some n95's early.

That is all well and good for Ford and GE to produce vents, just who will be available to manage said vents. Most of the ICU nurses will be home on quarantine. Most of the travel nurses are Med-Surg. They are not qualified to manage vents unless they are ICU trained.

CDC has been a disorganized, contradictory disaster since this began.
Sure the head of it can't wait to fall on his foam sword and move on to a cushy corporate job from some company pleased by the way his political party has kowtowed to its lobbyists in the past.
