I worked both. But the generally concensus on here is all oilfield hands are just rig hands.

So your saying Louisiana is the ultimate oilfield baw with the truck nuts?

I'd rather shell out thousands than send my kid to a Louisiana public college.

I'm in the market for a good used truck. How long before I can get one cheap? And how hard will it be to take the "oil field trash making oil field cash" sticker off of it?

Most people wouldn't work away from home like most in oilfield did or do

The person who works 8 hour days all year instead of a 7-7 or 14-14 is away from home just as many waking hours as someone who works offshore

I worked land rigs and averaged 300 days a year. Not everyone was on shift work like offshore. I was in directional drilling though and I wanted to make as much as I could and hit 20 days a month to get bonuses.

That's a different story. I know fishing hands get run into the ground as well

Bruh, you're on a fricking online message board. If you want mature people saying mature things then go to a city council meeting or something.

At least you can admit that you were being petty.

It's rediculous how much time I gave them. It was my choice and I'm happy to be done with it all. Gonna have a much simpler life now. Spend more time with family.

But the people that say some are overpaid sound like queers. It's only jealousy. There are lots of reasons each job pays so well. Most of the time it either the danger factor or time away.

Hell when I worked in the office I was on call 24/7 for over 20 rigs. I had to excuse myself from many a dinners to go converse about issues. That doesn't happen in a lot of industries.
