As I said previously, my concern was that he may lose his job and/or face jail or at least a lawsuit.

quote:

But the family's statement disputes accounts that guns were pointed at the driver. The statement said people were pleading for the driver to stop dragging Perkins, a father of two who was recently promoted to a manager at his job.

Setting everyone up to play on their feels.

The Witherspoon Law Group

quote:

“The entire Nation was aware of protests demanding justice for the death of Mr. Floyd," the statement said. “There is no justification for running over a human being with a semi-truck."

Lawyer making a statement. Setting us up now for "he should have known not to be driving and instigate such an incident".

quote:

FedEx said in a statement that it was “deeply saddened" to learn about what had happened

Does anyone actually think FedEx isn't going to drop the ax here? It's going to be a PR move.

I certainly don't blame the guy, but he's going to get torched now.

So peaceful protesting is getting onto a moving truck?

Also, if I’m driving that truck, I’m not stopping either when a band of idiots are next to me banging on my window.

The guy in the first video clearly says "we was throwing bricks trying to get the driver to stop". Mind you, no one was in front of the truck once it was moving. The only brick-throwing was beforehand and was to intimidate the driver. But even that guy tried to put a reason for throwing bricks on camera that didn't amount to them attacking the driver.

This is nuts.

Who here has ever decided to throw bricks at a vehicle to get it to stop?

So what was he doing in between the 2 trailers after someone opened the front one?

And even if it was innocent it's an inherently dangerous place to be.

They are so completely full of shite. I saw a video posted on this website that showed people pointing guns at the driver.

Also, you can see a package next to the man as he was being dragged.

No, he wasn't looting at all. What a load of crap.

They should have a Friday Night or Saturday Night early prime time TV show: Relatives Say the Damnedest Things. Tom Bergeron can host.

Reginald Denny was probably watching and thinking, “Man, if only I had that courage.”

The saddest thing about it was the animals running along side with their cameras rolling. It was moving slow enough for them to at least try and grab something to pull the man free. I mean, do something! Animals.

There's no reason he would've been that close to the truck unless he was up to no good.

“He wasn’t looting. He was just trying to climb the trailer to be a lookout.”

Was the family even there? On what basis is their statement?

I hear you, but once that 80-thousand-pound vehicle was moving and had him pinned his demise was cemented.

Even if they had gotten him freed, my guess is at least one of his legs had been ripped apart, thus his femoral artery was likely severed. Without someone there to properly apply a tourniquet, death would have been swift.

Of course, as you stated, that would have required someone to put the damn phone down and try to help. The exact same thing happened with the David Dorn case. Instead of helping the poor man, people were just taking video. Some segments of society are just past the point of redemption.
