I'm sure they get it cheaper since they buy in bulk, but it's still extremely expensive to give away for free.

There is no chance they would be able to survive giving away that much crown for free. That shite comes wholesale at like 34 dollars a bottle

Wow.

They're getting cheated then, because I can get it for about $25 per bottle retail.

They also cut the crown with water take one bottle and pour half in an empty bottle with water. Makes it last longer and people don't care as long as they can taste the crown.

Bars are not allowed to buy retail. They have to buy through distributors. which can be more than what you buy at Walmart because they buy it bulk and pass the difference onto their customers.

Which was my point originally I wasn't trying to get into a semantics argument about Reggies bar cost

Summer time LSU is just tGOAT in general. You are forced to hangout with a wider group of people. Pool side everyday, then free drinks at night.

Even if you are taking 9 hours it wasn't that bad of workload.

Not sure if that's true or not. Used to always have a crown shot at FD with my bartender buddy and it tasted full proof Unless he kept one separate

Shots aren't supposed to be available during free drinks I believe so it's likely he gave you the real shite because hes your buddy

Happens more than people would like to admit. Not that easy to bust a bar doing it.

Dude, retailers buy in bulk too.

Spin it however you want, but retail is never gonna be cheaper than wholesale. That's just not how it works.

I'm not here to argue with y'all, but I know for a fact I saw them break the seal on multiple crown bottles. During FFD, we would stand right by the bar to cut down on having to waste precious time walking to the bar.

It make sense to me they would cut it or serve lesser stuff instead of crown during free drinks, but I saw what I saw

I've always been inclined to also believe that bars water down or use cheaper booze during free drink hours. It happens a lot more than you think:

Hot spots around the city have been nailed by the State Liquor Authority for refilling top-shelf liquor bottles with cheaper booze, watering down drinks or serving up cocktails full of fruit flies.

Bar I worked at recently pays 34.75 for a bottle. But they don't buy in bulk bc it's a small bar. Wholesale was the wrong word to use on my part

Even at 15-20 dollars a bottle, there's no way they are serving pure crown for free and a 10 dollar cover

If it's $25 a bottle. Their cost is probably $2 drink. Anything over 5 you drink, they'll likely make it back when you buy one after free drinks for $7

Bout damn time. All the Tigerland bars do this; I always assumed they had some group bribe thing going with ATC to keep them in business. The entire Tigerland area needs to be burned to the ground and rebuilt.

Because bar owners and managers never make poor financial or business decisions

You close your doors very quickly if you only make your money back on crown and drinks that cost that much.

Earls has the same cover for cheap shite only and once the free drinks time is over they charge 9-10 dollars for crown russe. That model works, it does not work with crown and other liquors at that level
