As to the "hate"? This is a hateful time. And people are quick to be assholes. Bush/Trump/Obama/Clinton are ALL to blame and are in no particular order.
This site and region being predominately conservative despite being a college based site, and the GOP imploding may have a lot to do with it.
Still a good place for good discussions. You just need a thick skin. You just have to know that you could start a thread about how much you love puppies or your children and someone will call you a pussy or a pedophile or a beta. Most will just be a mean spirited joke, but somebody will be serious.
Want to gauge assholery of this site? Look at downvotes. On any thread. It's almost like youtube. A video of a fireman pulling a baby from a burning building will have downvotes.
