Meh. It's not how you speak, it's how you act IMO. I've seen some trashy redneck folks in California. They spoke differently, but you couldn't take the trash out of the trailer.
While we're at this I'd like to add that I see white trash and redneck as interchangeable terms to describe the same people.

That's asinine.
Redneck is simply another term for country. Maybe a little unrefined and rough, but not necessarily trash.

I grew up in the south too, but usually a "redneck" was someone who was borderline trashy or someone who liked to start fights, etc..whereas a country boy or girl was just that and usually it was a good thing.
