You must be the tall skinny guy who has the genes to eat whatever they want
No he is a guy that practices IF and tracks all his foods so he knows his calorie and macro intake daily. He sets his macros and tries to get within 10% of them each day.
And yes a calorie is a calorie.
I have said this before, you aren't going to defy the laws of thermogenics to any appreciable degree.
Now where rocket is wrong as he equates bodyfat with health. In general he would be correct. But if he ate chicken fries everyday and remained ripped and I followed a paleo style diet, more than likely more blood markers are going to be better than his, genetics being equal.
He loves to hate on keto guys because many take it to the extreme and beleive they can eat how ever much they want and still lose and that just isn't true.
I can see his point how it can get annoying with people preaching carbs are the devil. They aren't, but sugar does play a role in upsetting hormonal balance.
in general though calories in are what matter. I said in general.
Both rocket and I are big proponents of lean gains style eating where you cycle cals, carbs and fats, combined with intermittent fasting. Outside of a protein sparing modified fast this is the most effecient way to lose FAT(not weight, fat only).
Back to the study, everyone should know red meat is not bad for you especially grass fed. Grass fed contains a fat profile that ranks as one of the best there is and is almost perfect for the human body.

This has been known for awhile that the perceived negative effects of red meat, and fat in general, were overstated.
and most weirdly, studies seem to indicate that fat people do not have any diseases that other people don't - except more diabetes.

jesus you are an ignorant frick. You have no clue about a good diet. You keep mouthing off about shite you have no clue about. Hint: science is not on your side
Sheesh, dude, you are off your rocker. Medical science is on my side, and whether you believe it or not does not concern me. Stupid stupes so do what you do best

medical science from the 1950's? medical books published in the 70's based on those studies?
Not trying to be a dick, but science has advanced and the medical science community(at least the good ones) recognize that and have been pushing for huge reforms in the food triangle and diet recommendations.
Most in medical science push a diet that is low in processed carbs and processed food in general and much more a diet based on healthy fats and protein.
couple other things, pork is not red meat and you stating that shows a general lack of knowledge. Its called "the other white meat" for a reason.
Second, in general pork ribs are a pour cut of meat as are most cuts of pork. By pour I mean the fat profile is not the best, But pork raised in its natural environment tends to have a very good fat profile. Not as good as grass fed beef and butter but overall much healthier than say pasta.
Third, please tell me what all mighty medical science says. Please do as I can find plenty of studies and experts that say you are wrong and have the data to back it up. Honestly I don't need that though, lets look and see what region of the world in general has the people with the least amount of heart disease and diabetes. That would be the areas of the mediterranean, specifically the cultures in that area that eat a lot of fats, protein and smaller portions of carbs.
In other words, you need to research before you run at the mouth and just accept what you heard on the nightly news.
