Could it be arson or something to get insurance money due to the Hurricane?

No
The hurricane hit 40 miles east several months ago

Seems odd to me with modern fire alarms it would burn to the ground like that the fire dept is not that far away really.
Someone may have accidentally turned something off with the fire alarms or sprinkler system if they had one. My cousin's restaurant on 98 burned down several years ago

Seems like that place was printing money to me. Hard to believe any sort of "insurance scam" deal would have really been worthwhile to destroy it to the ground.

Once the initial fire started, the high winds spread it and fanned it. It was completely engulfed by the time SWFD got there and completely gone in 90 minutes.

Were any renovations ongoing?
It seems like a lot of tragedies like this occur when contractors are removing and replacing things, possibly disabling smoke alarms, etc.

It was most likely an electrical issue, I would honestly be surprised if it was really up to code

This is what happened at my cousin's restaurant, someone who was not an employee disabled the fire security stuff and didn't turn it back on when they were done doing whatever it was they were doing. It was an older wooden building as well

Yeah, I was wondering if any of the folks who seem SHOCKED that it got engulfed so fast had ever stepped foot in the place.

I meant did they burn it to the ground for insurance money?
Posted on 2/14/19 at 1:57 pm to Pettifogger
my family has a place off 30a. been going down there since the mid 90's. i hate it for the area, but i refused to go in red bar as they had no credit card machine. i have no place in my life for cash only businesses.

There are already plans to rebuild, so that would also be an indicator
It would make no sense and I put the likelihood at 0%
