Recommendations Needed for Key Fob Replacement and Programming in Metairie

I lost the sole key to my push button start Honda Accord. It’s parked at home, and I have spent several days looking everywhere. I have a remote start fob that will lock/unlock but will not let you drive the car. (It was Honda’s stupid OEM at the time that made you sacrifice a fob for the remote start fob.)
Any recommendations on a service that will come to the house to program a new key fob? Any idea for a reasonable cost?

I needed one for my Toyota Corolla when a valet lost my keys. Cost $200+ at the dealership 10+ years ago. Thats all I got.

Call Liberty Locksmith in New Orleans, they will give you a free estimate. Just give them the make & model.
But definitely call around. Not sure who else will give you an estimate over the phone. Good luck.

I bought it used and it had the one fob and one remote start fob. Apparently, Honda would give 2 unless you got factory remote start. Then, they would cannibalize one of the two for the remote start fob. It was how all Hondas were at the time. Forums are full of people bashing that horrible set-up.

Some fobs, due to wireless capabilities, can be tracked. Not sure about yours but I'd start with a Honda dealership, and as mentioned, a locksmith.
But I don't understand this
If it starts, you should be able to drive it.

I have seen some vans advertising mobile key replacement. They come to you instead of having to tow your car. I dont have a name but google should help.

Recently bought one online for my wife’s Toyota, had it programmed at batteries+. Cost around $220 total would have been over $500 through the dealership.

Nope. Lock vehicle to remote start. Unlocking it turns it off. Then, you use regular fob to start. Have to carry both fobs. That’s even what the Honda manual says.
Like I said, didn’t know such a half baked solution could exist, let alone be OEM from Honda.

Crown Buick has been getting rave reviews here

Pop a lock I think does that now.

I don’t know about Honda but with Subaru you need to have the car towed to the dealership so they can remove a module to send off for reprogramming and then order new keys and fobs. With Lincoln/Ford you need to go to the dealership with the title or some other form of proof of purchase and your ID for new keys and fobs to be ordered.
