L. L. Bean continental rucksack. Plenty of room. Has padded laptop pocket and is water resistant (basically rainproof - bottom is NOT waterproof) as long as your pockets are closed and secured. Tough material. Will last forever.

I use one all the time. Love it.

It's for bikes mainly, but I pimp this one through the airports as well.

Assuming you are using this for occasional camping trips, go with Kelty. Mid-range priced and a very good backpack with lots of pockets and other features to add on other gear.

Top of the line is Osprey, High Sierra, and Kifaru. Very pricey though.
