Doby now has 180 days to collect at least 14,390 signatures from voters in Brossett's District D,

Only about 16,500 people total voted in the election he won.

Another is facing federal charges for tax evasion and the Mayor herself was in trouble with credit card charges and then owing back taxes. This is how politicians are these days.

There is no reason council members need city supplied / insured vehicles

As many work vehicles as the city buys and insures a year, the cost of vehicles for council members is probably cheaper than mileage.

Plus, you know if they paid mileage, you'd have council members saying they drove 80K miles a year for official business.

I also don't mind the council taking the cars home... but 100 percent it should only be used when on official business. When you driving to da club, drive your own damn vehicle.

Also he's a f'n councilman with a detail. He could have called ANY NOPD officer and they gladly would have driven him home IN his issued unit.

because Brossett embarrassed New Orleans and lowered the bar for its political class.

What Brossette did was wrong, and he has a problem, but this made me LOL. This isn't even close to the worst thing a city elected official has done, this year.

Friend,

No such person who drink drives and certainly not someone who drives drunkenly should have any elected position in America. He should never again, until many years of proven rehabilitation, be allowed to represent the public.

Yours,

Pretty crazy that this story, while just published a little over an hour ago, is nowhere on the front page of NOLA.com.

It would matter to me. Although the embarrassment is already there.

Granted I’ve seen more spilled drinks while seated than people pissing themselves.
