I don’t know of any school that takes Greek life more seriously than Alabama. I think it’s all rather silly. Nobody liked Greeks except other Greeks when I was there. Probably true everywhere they exist.

It helps when you don’t know a ton of people. Lots of guys are frick ups but you gravitate towards people you have things in common
with. If you are a frick up, you will have no problem finding other frick ups. It’s cool to experience games and stuff as a Freshman and Sophomore as a group but once you get into the core stuff in ur major actual school replaces fraternity life, or at least it should. You do make connections though that will help once you are gone into the real world and it will open a door or 2 with someone that wasn’t in ur chapter as well. Especially if you cross paths with other SEC guys from the same fraternity just so you can compare chapters. It’s worth it but pricey.
