Eh, I mean it’s definitely trashy and on the low end of the morals scale. But if we are talking about a reasonably well off family and the daughter lost $50 while the dad was probably telling her 10x to leave the purse at home because she was going to lose it, it’s not the worst life lesson for the kid to learn either.
Given that, it’s trashy enough to not come on the OT and post about not doing shite about it.

My wife has 2 brothers, it is their wives.
This makes it tough. Class-wise, you married down. You really should think about this going forward. Do you want your own children to go down the trash-lined path?
Also, did you tell your wife about this? Her reply will say a lot about how worried you should be about the trajectory your family will take.

I did tell her and she was absolutely disgusted with it just like I was.
We moved away from Louisiana as soon as we graduated college to get away from these people. We deal with it a couple times a year so our kids can at least know their cousins. If/when the kids start displaying the same traits as their parents then we will know it’s time to cut bait and only see them at major holidays at most.

If you are still out there, go to the place that this happened and speak with the manager. Explain the situation to them, and if they have the parent's contact information, and give them you contact info

I did call this morning, and they said someone did ask about the bag but they did not leave their information. I told them if they reach back out to please give them my phone number to contact and I will return the money. Worker said it was like $30. The amount isn’t really the issue at hand imo though.
